Next year I'm going to celebrate 'Hindu Christmas"
And I will partake in the communion but instead of the Wine being representative of the blood of Jesus I will bring my own blood from a Holy Hindu cow. And I will drink it sitting; cross legged.

And rather than believe that the Christian ritual of eating a piece of bread to symbolize, (or represent) the body of Jesus I am going to bring Matzo to THEIR CHRISTIAN CHURCH to partake of one of the rituals of Passover.

When Easter rolls around I will attend Sunday morning church service but I will bring my own organic free range chicken eggs and use this special time to teach people how important it is to respect the animals that give their lives to help us survive. I will take the opportunity to explain the Native american spirit animals and how they live in us and help us when we make contact with them. And my family will hunt Native American relics instead of Easter eggs because that is the first true religion of our land.

And all of this I am declaring in the name of the latest new "old thing that Christians must remake as their own":

"Christian Yoga" Yup you read that right. From the persecuted people who have their very own list of movies that are acceptable to Christians; from the ones who need to have special Christian 12 step groups; to the ones who want to change the Constitution of the United States of America to conform to their dogma; and to the ones who will only allow their oil to be changed by "Christian Oil and Lube"

What these "Christians" have done to the sacred practice of Yoga is BLASPHEMY! And they wonder why they keep losing friends.

That is it you pompous conceited narcissists. I am coming to YOUR church and let you see a mirror of what you are!

1. Feel free to change what you like
Tis a free country after all.

What we need is a religion free religion, we might call it politics or something similar :)

4. It is disrespectful of other religions. Sure they have a right but there
is a price they pay. And it is only going to get worse. I saw their Jesus Yoga on the TV tonight. It was disgusting. I don't think they would appreciate people loudly chanting while they were jumping up and down with the Holy Spirit.

I really wonder what they would do.

2. There are an awful lot of yoga practitioners in the west
who just see it as a physical practice, not a spiritual one, i.e. the power yoga people and so on. They don't know anything about the eight limbs of yoga and I doubt that they could even tell you who Patanjali was. I honestly don't see much of a difference between these secular yoga practioners and these so-called Christian yoga people.

8. If it was JUST secular YOGA I might be inclined to agree with you
but they have to have their own version of everything! How many other groups have their very own version of Alcoholics Anonymous? AA was DESIGNED to include everyone yet they must separate themselves yet again.

9. That's right, people have been ignoring the spiritual aspects..
For years and years, now. Grafting on your own is just the next step. It used to annoy me but what's the point. If people get something out of it, physical, mental, spiritual or emotional, or want to change it for their own purposes, what is the harm.

Yoga is not "Hinduism", per se.

10. They've been doing this for 2000 years
Christmas and Easter are just two Christian holidays with Pagan origins. Same thing with evergreen trees, mistletoe, painted eggs, and the Holy Trinity (a masculinised version of the Triple Goddess).

Now, I'm all for holding eclectic beliefs. Most of my religious beliefs are Wiccan, but some are Buddhist, as well. However, I don't try to "Wiccanize" my Buddhist beliefs. Likewise, if Christians want to practice yoga, great, but don't try to "Christianize" it. They should appreciate it for what it is.

11. Some Catholic churches in my area
(Mpls) have been sending preists to the "Zen Meditation Center" for ever and I don't think it is a physical thing either, at least not totally.
