One of the earliest laws passed by Hitler once he came to power in 1933, was the Law for the Encouragement of Marriage. This law stated that all newly married couples would get a government loan of 1000 marks which was about 9 months average income. 800,000 newly weds took up this offer. This loan was not to be simply paid back. The birth of one child meant that 25% of the loan did not have to be paid back. Two children meant that 50% of the loan need not be paid back. Four children meant that the entire loan was cleared.

The view that women should remain at home was reinforced when a third of male workers lost their jobs and became unemployed during the depression in the 1930s. Nazis argued that men were being replaced by female workers who, on average, only received 66% of men's wages.

6. The men who advocate this lifestyle for females view women as

"children" incapable of making "important" decisions. At least that's what they insinuate with their sickening-sweet appeal to women to be good girls who keep home.

The fact is: out of sight out of mind.

Without women in government, academics, medicine, technology, religion, the arts.....who will hear or heed what women need?

Who will listen to what children and animals and water and the land need?

Some men (and too many women) want to be able to turn a deaf ear to suffering. Hiding suffering men, women and children from their sight accomplishes this for these people.

Just like they hide the true suffering in the illegal occupation of Iraq, in their prisons, in their VA hospitals, wherever the environment is being destroyed, wherever people are dying because of sheer greed.

9. My best friend's husband was this way

He gave her an allowance and a credit card for emergencies.
She had no idea how much money he made. She had no idea how much debt they had.
She made absolutely NO decisions at all.
He didn't believe in television, so they didn't have it.
She submitted ENTIRELY to him.
Then, he alienated her teenaged daughter so badly by denying her things and treating her like he treated her mother--that she moved in with her real Dad.
When my friend was on her deathbed--even though at the time she didn't know it--she told me that her biggest fear was that her children (they had two together) would never have fun if she died.
She was upset because of what he did to her oldest daughter and she missed her and wanted her home (they had always been very close).
She was actually talking of divorce.
However, she died two weeks later. I was able to get her daughter to move home at least a few days before she went into her coma but her fears have been realized. Her younger children will never know FUN and her youngest daughter is being taught to be submissive.
I had hoped her oldest daughter would be a big part of the younger kids life, but their dad doesn't really want that.:(

10. More than out of sight

Without income sources of their own, these women are dependent on their men-folk for money and the expenditures that require them, from food that can't be grown at home to doctor's appointments for each of the 10 kids she's gonna have. That gives the men an inordinate amount of control and makes it almost impossible for these women to get out of a bad or abusive situation. I think that's the main reason these men encourage such relationships: It's much easier to be the "head of the house" (:puke:) if your little lady has no recourse against your being a complete ass.
