Bush has gridlocked this nation...
The one thing that he could easily do is to call together a "bi-partisan" group of Democrats and Republicans to try and get a consensus on the high cost of gasoline, etc. But, he cannot bring himself to do such a thing. It's just not part of his make-up. The opposition is the enemy, just like Karl says. We cannot negotiate with them. That is a sign of weakness. We must destroy them - not work with them. And that is the mentality we have been working with for almost 6 years now. There is no compromise. There is no common ground. There is only gridlock.

1. you are right--we are gridlocked but it is more than gas prices. We have
an mt piggy bank--an debt that is out of bounds. Our infrastructure needs lots of attention, we have millions out of health insurance, homelessness has increased. And we are stuck, inching back and forth back and forth.

2. ShrubCo will work with dems...as long as they control them.
The WH wants to control and micromanage everything-peoples' thoughts, actions, words included. That is why any peep from democrats that is not 100% agreement/obedience gets painted as "partisan politics" or some other should-be-laughed-off-but-instead-chirped-by-MSM soundbite. ShrubCo will gladly work on an issue with any democrat who will rubber stamp their crapola, and pose TV for a nice big smooch afterward.
