Prison may house immigrant families
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/3816697.html

TAYLOR - A private prison could become the second facility in the country to house immigrant families detained by federal authorities.

The T. Don Hutto Correctional Center, owned and operated by Corrections Corporation of America, already had a contract to house immigration detainees. A new agreement approved by Williamson County commissioners last week changes the class of detainees from adult men to families, said assistant county attorney Dale Rye. snip

The facility would have separate sleeping quarters for men and women. Playpens, cribs and classroom space would be added, according to the documents.

Typically, families detained by immigration authorities who can't be immediately returned to their home countries are either released on bond or separated, with men, women and children going to different sites.

2. Hey, now we have American gulags, too.
We used to have to detain those people down in Guantanamo Bay, but now we have a camp for "indefinete detention" right here in the US. Much more efficient. And the old Gitmo only held terrorist suspects, now we can detain women & children too - and we don't even need to prove any crime at all. Jails & trials are so passe.

3. We already do
We already have what amount to gulags, they just aren't covered by the press much. Take a few moments to take a look at these two links, if you have any questions I'd be glad to cover them if I can. Don't really have to read the first, main point is a set of two charts half way or more down the page. second is brief as well unless you want to spend time there. Conditions tend to be very poor, and overcrowded.
