Face it...Tony Snow will do a better job than McClellan.
Edited on Wed Apr-26-06 11:27 AM by hexola
The unfortuanate truth here...Scotty wasnt very good at his job. Ari F. was much better and at least had a shred of credibility.

McClellan was dragging Bush down big time...if anything bad happened, Scotty made it seem 10 times worse...no suprise Bush's lowest polls happened under his watch. Scotty made it easy to bash Bush...

Snow will do a much better job...he knows the media, and will be able to tailor his message accordingly.

Not great news for our side...but not that big of a deal.

3. Don't Eat the Yellow Snow. He might get angry on the podium.
Snow's face may be as white as the driven snow, but I'm sure it can get red when it gets partisan, and he has a history of being very partisan.

4. I don't think the change will help at all
the message hasn't changed, even if the messenger has. We know it's all lies, and so does the WH press corps. Expect an extremely short honeymoon.

5. Snow can't restore the Bush regime's credibility.
Sure, he'll be a better liar than McClellan. But it's too late, most Americans are now on to dishonesty and incompetence of the Bush bunch.

7. That Remains To Be Seen...He Has A Heavy Load Of Baggage...
including his fill-in stints for Rush Limbaugh...I think transcripts of those old programs would be a goldmine of outrageous statements by Snow...

You also have the "anti-Fox" element from MSNBC and CNN at work...

8. Coming from TV we know Tony has a HUGE ego.
This is not a good job for someone with 'me' problems. I can't wait to see this right wing nut squirm like the snake he is.

11. He's never been faced with tough questions at FOX
Scott was the best liar there is, and had nothing to do with W's flagging ratings.

12. any numbers or demographics on who.....
besides us political junkies actually watch press conferences? i fail to see how this will help diminish "bush-bashing" (as you call it). unless he manages to have the white house press corps eating out of his hands (ha-ha), i don't see what difference the lipstick will make, it's still a "pig". and let's face it, his selection will probably placate the hardcore conservative base, but i don't see how it will have any effect otherwise.

i think this administration, ala john bolten, will soon find out that it's matters of policy, not appearances, that have (*)'s numbers in the toilet.

13. A lot of the McClellan contentiousness made it into the mainstream media..
A lot of those exchanges were on the nightly news...Snow probably wont be so dumb.

14. Probably true
but we need to keep pounding the Tony Snow, Fox Propaganda, White House connection. Keep pounding their spin, keep pounding their connection to one another and the fascist machine

15. Perhaps Rove indictment will be Snow's first press conference
that would be a good way for Tony to get his feet wet in new job position...

for Mr. Snow on this gig.

17. Not really
Don't confuse the message with the messenger. When Ari had the job, Smirky really did have political capital sufficient to cow any potential opposition. Now the wheels are coming off-- all the more visibly because the misadministration is acting like they know the jig is up, and they're ramming through obviously unsupportable policy initiatives like letting Big Oil pollute all they want.

I give Snow a month before he too will be the living embodiment of flop sweat, indistinguishable from Scotty.
