How do you prevent your posts (and replies) from

disappearing after 3 days? Is there a way to save them. You guys provide such good info sometimes, that I'd like to keep some of your replies around.

1. Click "Bookmark this thread"

to the left and below the thread title. :)

2. Posts don't disappear after 3 days

They're sent to the archives, but the link to view them doesn't change. If you want to keep a list of specific posts, I suggest using DU's "Bookmark" feature. You can find the bookmark link at the top-left of any thread.

4. You can use Bookmark and now the Journals.

The search function can search the archives for older posts.

Click Permalink (bottom right corner of each reply) and save in a bookmark folder.

7. Threads don't disappear unless removed by the mods.

You simply have to search for old threads and posts or you can bookmark your favorite posts. Posts added to your journal remain in your journal archive.

8. Bookmark the thread so you can find it when you want to - if you

look on the left side, above the OP you'll see "bookmark this thread". Then you can check your bookmarks and it will be there.

it says "bookmark" this thread - click on that and then follow the "instructions"

10. That's one of the disadvantages of a forum.

While the junk drops to the bottom like a stone, even the really good stuff drifts into oblivion before too long. You can either copy it out to a file on your own computer, or, as I sometimes do, get permission from the author to copy their post to my blog.
