Problems with Internet Explorer
I have been having some issues with IE and DU. Sometimes when I click on a link I just get the DU logo in the corner and nothing else. Is anyone else having this problem?

1. FIREFOX
Get Firefox, for heaven's sake, and ditch IE, which is nothing but a world of suck.

www.mozilla.com

You will LOVE it - I guarantee it.

2. Yes, I'm a computer know-nothing,
and even I can appreciate the improvement since I got Firfox - which IIRC takes about 2 minutes to downlioad and install.

It saves all your bookmarks and stuff too, so it's dead easy.

DO IT NOW!! You won't believe how much better it is (no bugs!!)

:sarcasm:
I like living on the edge. Seems to work like a charm I might add. I tried firefox once and that taught me to stay away from it. liked to have never got it all removed from my 'puter. I like windows media player 10 better than any of the others too.

10. In answer to your question...
Try clearing your cache. It might help. and won't hurt. Do so by...

Clicking on "Tools" at the top of the browser.

Selecting "Internet Options"

In the "General" Tab, click on the "Delete Files" button in the "temporary Internet files" section.

Click "OK" in the window that pops up.

Oh, and I also recommend getting and installing Firefox. It is more secure, and has several useful features. But it's ok if you don't... :)

11. Clear Cache
My IE hung up too about 2 days ago. Couldn't drop the history bar. Cleared the cache and history and worked fine. I use firefox but some web games only run on IE.

I've been having the problem since the mods did the last "update" or "conversion" or whatever the heck it's called. It's been discussed on several other threads in the past few weeks. Radio_Lady was compiling a list of people having that problem, and she was helping Elad. I'm a computer "illiterate" for the most part. I can just google, point, click...that's about it.
I have IE as well. The computer I use is my girlfriend's, and I don't want to try to change to Firefox.
I'm using a fairly new Dell that came preloaded with stuff. I can't copy a thread to report the problem when it happens, 'cause there's no url in an address at the top of the page, and I don't know how to change the screen to get it to show like it did on the "dead old laptop." (I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to 'splain! :-) ).
The newest "quirk" today is that when I click on someone's profile, I get the "DU logo in the corner and nothing else." That hadn't happened to me before. I guess I'll try clearing the cache and see if that helps.
For what it's worth, here on DU is the ONLY place I get a blank screen like that, that is, blank except for the DU logo.
Anyone else have any suggestions?
Whoa!! I just cleaned my cache, which is one thing I DO know how to do, and I can at least get the profiles to show up now. Kewl! Thanks Shipwack and flashsmith.
