I always do the same thing when I get one of those lame chain letters, with the correcting quote from SNOPES and the link.
I also always do a REPLY ALL, so everyone to whom it was addressed also gets the correction.

13. I did the same thing to a friend

who recently sent me an email titled "Can a Muslim be a good American?" It was the most racist thing I have ever seen detailing how a Muslim can not be a good American and it stated things about their religion and tried to associate it with terrorists. But, it was horrible and I could see how much it would hurt American citizens who are of the Muslim faith. So, I ripped my friend a new one and told her to delete it immediately and not pass it on to anyone. So, I think you are justified in my opinion.

I also have searched for this on the internet and it is floating around out there. (On that FreeRepuke site also, of course) The one site I found it on seemed to be a Christian site of some sort. I don't think she looked at it really close, but she did receive it from her very devout Christian mother. I could also see that it had been forwarded to many people other than me. I am a Christian and I always look at things and really wonder what God would think. Why is it so difficult for some who call themselves "Christians" to do this? I guess they can justify their interpretations but it sure makes me sick.

The truth is that Ollie North and other Bush loyalists were helping to BLOCK investigations into the funding of terror networks and they were funding them through illegal armsdealing. moneylaundering and drugrunning. Ollie North and the Bush loyalists were protecting Usama Bin Laden's money and many terror networks active back then.

BCCI investigation was blocked at every turn for 5 years by Bush and his cronies. BCCI was the granddaddy of all terror banks. Bin Ladens had their money there, including Usama. Salem Bin Laden and George W Bush made their deals through BCCI.

Guess who investigated the bank and tracked the global networks funding terrorism all over the world? John Kerry.

Who opposed Kerry's investigation and blocked many of the documents from public view? George Bush.

Had the public known what was really going on with BCCI and had the opportunity to digest all the players involved and their crimes, there would have been NO 9-11 and no Bush would ever have been allowed NEAR the White House again, let alone live in it.

Simply tell them that you prefer they research on their own - they can google BCCI - UAE - Bin Laden - Bush - Kerry and see how they feel about what they learn.

... remember to move all the addresses to blind carbon copy if possible. When some moron gets angry because you told them the truth -- can someone explain to me why they always get angry at us for providing the truth instead of the guy who lied to them? -- the others won't have to put up with that idiot's response.

Though I don't get many of their political emails anymore, when I did get them (especially during 2004), almost all of them were propagandistic falsehoods (e.g., John Edwards caused the flu vaccine shortage).

Here's what I do.

Most of my friends send this crap to everyone in their address book and put the email addresses in the To field. I respond only to the sender, but copy all the other email addresses the propaganda went to into the Outlook bcc field, so my friends won't readily know I spread the truth at their expense. (Okay, I might get flamed for that, but the passion for dispersing facts just overcomes me.)

And I send the snopes or truthorfiction link to the false story with a gentle reminder to check facts first.

Your rage is not really at your friend, I would suspect. Save that rage for POS's like Bush, Cornhole, and Pombo.
