I'm Sick of Being Labeled Anti-America By Conservatives...
It really disgusts me. How they go around calling all liberals anti-American at every turn. Don't they realize that we HAVE a Civic Duty to protest against our Government? Don't they realize that Blind Patriotism is an awful thing? And don't they get that it most certainly IS possible to support the troops, but not the Administration which gives them orders?

Seriously, give me a break. These people are really pissing me off, and I'm losing patience with them.

1. Considering most of them are a bunch of cowards and are easily called
on it, I wouldn't worry. Just turn it around and question their loyalty to their great white chosen protector.

2. Laugh at them....
....they have figured out that questioning people's patriotism seems to work.....no American wants to be called Anti- American. They hope it will shut you up - just like calling critics of the State of Israel Anti- Semitic, has worked for years.

It's annoying, I know (live in a Repuke State)...but don't let the bastards get to ya....

3. My husband and I just finished a discussion of this
He has some conservative repuke acquaintances and they really get on is nerves with this tactic. So I gave him some tips on responses.

Those people just can't or won't do the work it takes to think for themselves.

7. Sweetie...........
Letting those people upset you is roughly equivalent to your getting mad at wallpaper.

They are not worthy of your notice, let alone your energy.

Turn towards the pride you have to have in yourself that you understand the Constitution and what it means to be a patriotic and America-loving citizen.

Then ignore them. But, before you do, make sure they see that you're laughing at them.

14. Republicans are not deserters. They don't actually get that far.
Edited on Wed Apr-26-06 05:38 PM by KCabotDullesMarxIII
I suggest that when lawful constitution of Congress and the Senate have been restored, the Democrats enact a new civil-law charge, specially customized for Republican paper-tiger patriots (ptp/s?): "Absent without leave in anticipation": AWOLIA. These days, with very rare exceptions, they're all mouth and trousers.

Words are cheap. Blood isn't. And don't they know it, when there's a risk of their of their own being spilt. That's one thing you could never say about the old toffs. Mad as hatters in many ways - money does that - but they were mostly courageous to a fault in time of war.

Edited on Wed Apr-26-06 05:23 PM by C_U_L8R
Deeds.
The Republicans are behaving in ways that are criminally un-American.
Pick any paragraph of our country's Constitution that they have not trampled upon.
Matter of fact pick any one of the ten commandments that they have not broken.
As for American values... the Republicans don't uphold a single tenet...
they hate immigrants.... they are fiscally irresponsible.. they piss on the little guy....
they support illegal wars and condone secret torture prisons, they preach hate, intolerance
and racism and they worship at the altar of the almighty dollar.

Yechhhhh... The Republicans truly are.. un-American PUKES.

Edited on Wed Apr-26-06 05:49 PM by KCabotDullesMarxIII
The only question is how elitist they are in the distribution the nation's wealth.

You almost expect the Neocons to sell up their houses and pool the proceeds, like the early Christian disciples, so solicitous is Bush for the livelihoods of the "Haves" - his base. Tax-breaks here, mega-gougings there (they don't do anything by half-measures), missing billions everywhere.

16. So am I. That's why I don't listen to Country 'Music'.
Too many of them call us un-American. I decided that I do not want to be part of their right wing ignorance/hate. According to right wingers, if you don't support their beliefs, you are un-American. It is the right winger who is un-American. KKKlint Blackkk wrote a song called "Iraq I Roll" about the "need" to invade Iraq. In this song, he claims that the Iraqis are trash. I would say that he is trash and his honky wife's "acting" is trash.

17. I have this thread on GD about Sirius Radio, and it addresses that..
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x1031813

Corporations like Sirius lead the charge in insinuating that if you are NOT republican or conservative, then you are anti-America, or not a "patriot". The popular media, through total laziness, perpetuates this myth. I'm so tired of it also, and have contacted Sirius about their part in packaging that liberal = anti-America myth.

19. I easily shut up a friend of mine when he said that to me
Very firmly, and a little loud, in a crowded Lake Tahoe casino, I said "How dare you say that to me you Nazi motherf**ker!" He quickly looked for a place to hide and many of the people around us were chuckling.

In your best tone as if you're talking to an angry three year old:

Aw. You're just mad because you're not getting your way. When we get mad because we don't hear what we want to hear, sometimes we call names. But that isn't nice, is it?

They look at you like your nuts... but how can they respond?

23. Being for the disintegration of American freedoms is un-American
Edited on Wed Apr-26-06 08:11 PM by zulchzulu
Mostly, you're bound to never get to even mention what the Boy King Chimp has done with the Constitution and how he thinks he's above the law...most Freeps are just plain too stupid to even understand what's going on.

If it was a battle during the American Revolution and these same ilk thought the British King was doing fine, some musket gunpowder, a metal ball and a quick clearsighted aim would have gotten them out of the way. And like those times, if they are willing to lay down their rights as Americans for a PNAC corporatist like Chimpy, then they indeed are in the way again.

To lay down your freedom for Chimpy's agenda is to say you surrender to Osama.

Period.

You let the terrorists win.

How much more un-American can you get than that?

I'd ask these chickenhawks why they aren't suited up as Chimpy Fodder in Iraq...surely they can back up their jingoism with a little zombie love for their precious AWOL Boy King.

28. It's your duty!...
"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."

"Teddy Roosevelt in the Kansas City Star", 149
