Snow Expresses Regret for Criticizing the President
http://thinkprogress.org/2006/04/26/snow-regret-criticism/

Today on Fox News, White House Press Secretary Tony Snow told Brit Hume that he wishes he “hadn’t written or said” his past criticisms of President Bush, reported yesterday on Think Progress.

HUME: Last question — one you’re going to get. You said, among a number of other things critical of this president, for example, on September 30 of last year, “No president has looked this impotent this long when it comes to fulfilling presidential prerogatives.” How do you plan to deal, when asked, with your past criticisms of this president?

SNOW: Well, the pretty simple answer. Which is, there are probably a lot of people in the press room who, from time to time, say, “Woo! Wish I hadn’t written or said that.” Here’s the key. When I will be giving advice to the President, it will be my advice. And if I have differing opinions with some people, I will express them. But on the other hand, the job as press secretary is not to come in as a surrogate president and say what I believe matters because frankly what matters is what the administration has decided to do and that I will express as forcefully as I possibly can.

9. His job isn't to be the surrogate President???? No, REALLY????
Uh, Tone, yer job is to PARROT. To stay on point, to fend off, to deny, to defuse. You are a walkin', talkin' tape recorder, pal, to regurgitate what they ALLOW you to know, and even suggesting that you think that's what your job ISN'T makes you appear to be a bit, shall we say, HUBRIS-LADEN???

This guy is gonna get one HELL of a wake up call...the bloom may be off the rose sooner than we think!

Hah. Clearly he doesn't know Bushie baby too well.

I wonder what he had to do to get the job with these statements against Bush on the record?
