Countdown on MSNBC: Covering Hookergate and the Rove (indictment?)
On now.

What's with them using the Watergate for this? What irony!

2. I really hope this doesn't come down to sex
The GOP corruption is so much deeper and more serious.

4. Yeah it's only sex, but it's a start .........
Besides, I want to see the fundies freak out and abandon ship before the real prosecutions start.

You know if there's a blow job involved they'll be livid. If it involves male prostitutes as is rumored, their heads will absolutely explode!!! I REALLY want to see that.

8. I disagree...

...because, while there's no question that the real scandals are far more serious, there's nothing that gets the public's attention (and rallies them against the perpetrators) more than sex and/or personal greed.

Look at how the Clenis fascinated the American public for years, while domestic surveillance dropped like a stone. And, even back during Watergate, it took the news that Nixon may have used federal funds for improvements to his vacation home before an additional large bloc of the public turned against him. ("Spying on opponents? So what? Using my tax dollars to put in a swimming pool? Get the rope!" :eyes: )

Besides, one thing the Republicans have had throughout all this is the illusion of "personal morality" (which, always, boils down to "only having sex with one's own spouse"). Puncturing that holier-than-thou illusion will drive another nail into their coffin. :-)

9. Smearing Clinton over morality was the entire raison d'etre for the right
during the 90s. Look at what David Brock, himself, has revealed what the right did to Clinton.

11. I'm willing to bet that it is the blackmail that is the real backstory.
Compromising politicians is a great way to mute their effectiveness in Congress.

14. Sex as an inticement in addition to money....doesn't get any better than
that. And, if TPMuckraker is right (said they got info from Harper's Investigative Blog) that Porter Goss and members of the House Intelligence and Defense Committees were at their parties with the booze, card games and call girls...plus they had an involvement with Tom DeLay...then it will be a scandal the Repugs will never live down. It goes to the heart of their supposed superior morality...

If it was going on during Clinton then it will be even more devastating for them. :D Of course they will blame it on the Clenis for setting a bad example. Everything being the Clenis's fault. :-(
