How did Rove and Libby think that they would never get caught?

I am sitting here thinking about all of the nasty, rotten, unethical, and illegal things that Rove has done in the past 10 years or so and I have to wonder how this asshole thought that he would never get caught.

Does he really think that he is that much smarter than everyone else that no one would ever be able to figure out what he is up to? Or did he think that no one could touch him because of his connections?

I realize that there are a lot of skeletons in Rove's filthy closet that we may never hear about...but his indictment regarding the outing of Valerie Plame is a start. This fucker deserves everything he has coming to him and more.

No one on the heirarchy at the level of Libby and Karl get to make a call like the take down of Brewster-Jennings.

Justifying their war on Iraq and making it possible was the reason for WHIG. B and C ran WHIG.

This decision goes to the top and if you investigate Khan of Pakistan with Iran you come up with Cheney. He had the most to gain in bringing down B-J.

Libby and Rove are gofers who also provide tons of input and support. But, they don't call the shots (such as this one).

This isn't just about leaking. It's about bringing down a CIA ongoing investigation of nuke trafficking.

We know that the leak wasn't just a mistake.

But Fitzgerald can only go on the law - so it's now all about laws that were broken during the Grand Jury investigation while looking into the law that was broken by the White House.

recused himself in the spy leak case, and appointed James Comey as Acting AG who, in turn, appointed Patrick Fitzgerald.

This matter never would have been brought to a Grand Jury and a public airing if Abu Gonzales had been the AG. He's the consigliere, and would say or do anything to cover for the lot. Thank god for small favors.
