I ride to work with a right-winger.
She has a bumper sticker on her car saying "We Still Pray" so I went to the We Still Pray.org website and it's pure right-wing, Phariseean crap ("Call your Senator to support Bill Frist's marriage amendment...."). She also has a "Freedom isn't Free" (i.e, Bush is right about the Iraq war). Then, the other day, she has a CD in the car, playing softly, some song with a line about "Save the trees, kill the children, that's always the way....."

If I wasn't conserving fuel and keeping money out of the Repukes' and Oil Companies' hands, I'd get out of the car and walk.

I occasionally drive and the worst thing I have on my car is Joe Biden sticker. I should slap some rabid stuff on and play my Rage Against the Machine tapes.

has one built in. What ever ever radio station this freak is tuned into, you could tune your wireless MP3 player to play on the same station. Imagine a drive to work with Mike Malloy blaring through her car radio. he hee

21. Then why did they stage a protest concert outside the 2000 Democratic
National Convention. Were they protesting the pukes? I remember seeing one of those guys from rage on MTV doing a interview and he said he supported Bush. Unless he was being a smart ass.

Bush. Did you read the articles? ??

It's because they're more RADICAL than the Dems.

I'd like to see a link where one of the band says they support Bush.

But I don't suppose you'll be producing that anytime soon.

On Edit: I suppose all the protesters at the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago were all Republicans too, LOL.

34. How can I post a link on something I saw and heard on MTV years ago?
Like I said maybe he was being a smart ass. I read the links and most of their songs were done during the Clinton administration. Their music seems anti-establishment of any powers that happen to be. I do agree with many of their lyrics. Being that they are no longer a group we won't be hearing any new music from them as a group. "I suppose all the protesters at the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago were all Republicans too" Well, Nixon won but Johnson did send ground troops in Vietnam. There was a reason for that protest. Why did they protest the 2000 Democratic Convention? The only thing I found was from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_Democratic_National_Convention#Rage_Against_The_Machine_Concert

"On August 14, the opening day of the convention, RATM held a protest concert outside Staples Center at the same time as the main speaker of the night, President Bill Clinton. The crowd in the Protest Zone had swelled into thousands. While RATM did not hesitate to play its politically charged songs and make general complaints about their perceived corruption of the political system, the stopped short of inciting protests or violence in the Protest Zone."

In fact he is about the most leftist musician I can think of.

Here is a partial listing of "recommended reading" from Zack de la Rocha, lead singer of the now defunct RATM.

# "The Marx-Engels Reader (2nd ed.)"

# "What Uncle Sam Really Wants" - Free Verison!

I always wondered about those guys. Billy Bragg, too.

Me thinkst they doth protest too much! lol!

And Woody Guthrie wrote "This Land is Your Land" in reaction to liberal policy on immigration!

And Phil Ochs wrote that "Love Me I'm a Liberal" propaganda number to divide the Left. I always knew he was an undercover RWer; that's why Clinton's penis had him killed.

33. The 4th and 5th stanza of "Your Land" are EXTREMELY RW!!!!111@
"As I was walkin' - I saw a sign there
And that sign said - no tress passin'
But on the other side .... it didn't say nothin!
Now that side was made for you and me!

In the squares of the city - In the shadow of the steeple
Near the relief office - I see my people
And some are grumblin' and some are wonderin'
If this land's still made for you and me."

12. That sucks x a million.
For music choices get "When the President Talks to God" by Bright Eyes. All time favorite anti-bush song.

As for that right wing drivel "music", who sings it, besides the obvious (Lee Greenwood..etc). I would like to know. So I can make sure not to dl them or go to any of their concerts. I don't like much right-wing music, i.e. most country and christian, so I'm probably not going to risk it...I'm just curious.

However, it does baffle me when right-wingers like liberal bands/artists like R.E.M., Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen (Born in the USA-big time, though its really an anti-vietnam song..dumbasses), Bright Eyes (for the "indie" repub..haha yeah right) and Green Day (for the "anti-establishment" repub...LOL).:wtf:

Right Wingers make me :puke:

Why does the saying "Beware of false prophets" keep coming into my mind?
I generally store it up , until they have enough of their foot up their mouths to be knockeddown decisively with no more that a line or two.Try to keep it witty, freeps get confused by wit.

32. Play Dylan for her
I was asking a fundie coworker about christian music (I am always looking for a new groove), and asked her what she liked. She asked me what christian music did I know and like and I told her "U2 and Bob Dylan". She responded with "That's not christian music". I challenged her to listen to their lyrics.

I got into gospel music instead of contemporary christian music, anyways, mainly because it's an original style, not something that is just copying mainstream rock acts, using christian lyrics. I do like Rebecca St. James' voice, though. I've heard some of her songs over the past few years.

It sounds like they're trying too hard and it sucks. Most of them support Dubya anyway...damn, rock music does not equal republican. And i find it really funny when republicans like blatantly liberal bands/artists because I could never like an artist that was republican and open about it. I cant understand how they can like liberal artists...bleh...strange.
