Anew?? A new what? A new asshole?? If they were really using the word "Anew" correctly, that wording is extremely awkward. I think someone is trying to be funny...and I think it's hilarious.

11. It is funny, but it's also very 18th century.

That phrasing is common in older style writing -- if the headline writer wasn't making a deliberate joke, perhaps he or she likes reading the classics.

I worked briefly at a newspaper, & it was a point of pride for copy editors when they could come up w/a good double meaning for a headline.
