Ukranians were immediately alerted when their exit polls and election results didn't match up. They demanded another vote, and the results were reversed.

The goal here is to maintain the status quo, and to gin up financial support for future campaigns.. The ones in office seldom lose and even if they do, they can go on to LOBBY and make more money.. The losers from the senate, just go back to their senate seat and pack away the left over money for "next time".. The losers from the house, can move or try again immediately so that by the time 2 years is up, they are positioned for another try.

The folks in DC are status quo-ers.. They "win" even when they lose..

The only real losers are the voters who faithfully turn out to vote and who campaign endlessly. They take the loss personally..the candidates seem to mind.."not so much"..

country is owned and run by corporations. I am hoping they see the Rs and a liability and will go with (corporate to be sure) Ds this time around - if not in 2006 then 2008. Progressives in power might have a chance to change things then.
