I would urge ALL here to join me ...
I just typed off this letter to the editor of our local newspaper ...

My initial urge was to burn the stupid thing, IF IT COMES THROUGH, but I would urge everyone here to commit to sending this insult of a 100 dollar dumb down check to democrats at the federal level ... I would urge you to use this letter to the editor, and get the word out ...

If they think they can buy us off like this, lets stick it back to them !!!!

"We have a president who is from a family that made its fourtune in oil. We have a vice president who was a former CEO for an energy company with oil interests and a secretary of state who was a corporate lawyer for an oil company.

In the three elections cycles since George W Bush was foisted on this country, oil interests have given 78% ($26,793,906 ), 80% ($19,924,682 ) and 80% ($20,581,289) of their political contributions to republicans. So far in the 2006 election cycle they have given 86% ( $6,084,673) to republicans.

We know that within a month of taking office, the vice president had a secret meeting to develop this country's "energy" policy. To this day, the white house refuses to release details from that meeting.

Today, we have gas prices approaching crippling levels while the oil companies are raking in record profits and CEOs are cashing out with 400 million dollar benefit packages. It is safe to say that oil companies invested wisely when they invested in the republican party.

Going back to a script that worked when this president first came to office with the 300 dollar tax "rebate" (read advances) to dull the masses' awareness of crippling tax cuts to the ultra rich, republican congressman are talking about throwing the masses a $100 breadcrumb tax relief check. I would urge everyone to make the wisest possible investment they can with that $100 and give it to democratic candidates at the federal level for this fall's elections."

2. Just sent it around to my email list. I added the word "now" after
the $100 breadcrumb tax thing because I did not even know about this so I bet most people don't.

3. Excellent, please consider reducing to 200 words if you submit it to other
papers. At 332 words it may not be accepted by some papers and other papers would butcher it so your main points are lost. :hi:
