Proof of Universal Studios' Unapologetic Bush Worship re: United 93-->
This morning, I received a marketing email in my inbox. Usually I get about 20 per day because I'm on some damn list I can't get off of. But this one was different - it was advertising United 93 and asked me to take part in a poll. But this part of the email is what made me really think:

PLEASE FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO ANYONE WHO CARES ABOUT THE SAFETY OF AMERICA, AND THE WAR AGAINST TERROR!!

Now come on! You couldn't get any more blatant than that. Red all the way, baby! Disgusting. But then again, I suppose since Disney is so red, it only makes sense that neighboring Universal is also red. Remember, Bush's brother is Governor of the state in which Disney World/Universal Studios is housed. Furthermore, if you remember, Bush urged the public to take a trip to Disney World right after 9/11. Ironic, ain't it?

Furthermore, they asked me to take part in a poll: "Is this the right time for the film?" If you want to DU this poll, please go to
http://www.u93.org/poll/

1. Disney's red?
Is that why just about the entire right-wing is bashing their 'pro-homosexual' healthcare policies?

5. In general, I don't think corporatists care for social issues, but...
when it comes to making a profit and protecting their interests and their empires, you damn well better believe they'd vote Repub if it meant getting more loopholes written into the tax code and more tax cuts.

2. Do you have reason to believe this was a real, sanctioned-by-Universal
ad, or could it have been sent by...well, anyone else in the universe?

3. This movie is a veiled campaign advertisement for Bushco
and for the GOP in November. Nobody's going to think all this stuff happened because they dropped the ball. They're going to think it hasn't happened again because they're just so gosh darn good at fighting terror.

STill, it's better than having the stinker released after Auust.

4. I never realized Disney Co was so red
They provide benefits for same sex couples.
They sponsor a Gay Friendly Day at Disney World -- they even refused to allow the Southern Baptist Convention to intimindate them
They pushed the fascist children of Walt Disney off the Board of Directors.

I dion't think Disney is that red.

9. what a little googling turned up

Keywords: "motive entertainment" "paul lauer" "republican"

“Christians are coming out of the closet.”

Motive Entertainment's Flight 93 site:

http://www.moviemarketing.biz/
'Motive was founded by Paul Lauer, who has pioneered the development,
production, sales, marketing, and distribution of media, entertainment,
and consumer products worldwide for the last 20 years. Lauer is also
one of the most well connected entrepreneurs in the Faith and Family
Market, having most recently designed and executed the highly-successful
marketing campaign for Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" for
Icon Productions.'

'Outreach Training" by Satellite
The Church Communication Network is offering a two-hour "Outreach Training"
session for the upcoming Narnia film. During the two hours, Douglas Gresham,
Michael Flaherty of Walden Media and Paul Lauer of Motive Marketing will
present strategies for using The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe as a tool
for evangelism. CCN seminars are conducted by satellite downlink to subscribing
organizations. The inital hookup costs about $2000, and monthly or yearly fees
apply for their program of seminars. (Presumably, a one-shot fee would be available as well.)'

'Walden has succeeded in becoming that rare thing that Hollywood does revere:
a franchise. Motive's Lauer says that even some of Walden's less overtly
religious movies can be used by pastors to teach a moral lesson. He points
to Walden's soon-to-be-released version of E.B. White's "Charlotte's Web,"
with its themes of friendship, death, and renewal. It sounds as if we can
expect another big opening weekend in December for Walden.'

11. Looks like he wants to make his site look like an official Universal site.
It's a bait and switch, really. He's got the Universal Studios link in the bottom left corner of the home page to make it look official.

He also uses some of Universal's advertising photographs on the page.

Time for a little cease-and-desist?

12. Newsflash: Hollywood is very BLUE
The administration is not telling Hollywood studios what to do with their films.
