as that is the language Jesus spoke. It is very interesting to hear, and even more interesting to translate, as there is no mention of God as Father in the first line, which could be translated as "Oh Thou Who art my breath".

24. I disagree. For me it depends on why and who you communicate to.

My grandmother never learned English and she became a citizen after emigrating from Italy. She never had to speak English much because of who she associated with. I don't see a real need to demand someone learn English. It helps to communicate with others here but I think it should remain a personal choice.

By the way, this racism came back and bit the repukes in Cali after Proposition 97, which ahem passed but CANNOT be enforced. something about them treaties, chiefly Guadalupe Hidalgo, we have signed with Mexico... what is more... that was the reason MANY LEGAL IMMIGRANTS (like myself) applied for citizenship. I think almost all songs are written to be song in 1 language. Or else the writers wouldn't go to all the trouble to arrange the entire composition the way they do. Since languages have different natural rhythms making a song that can be sung interchangeably in several languages is a major pain in the butt to the writer. This isn’t to say other artist can rearrange the music to other languages, but it’s my guess without such rearrangements many songs will sound pretty terrible in non-native languages.
