1. All I know is that Superman is an illegal alien
But he looks like a squared jawed kansas farm boy and I guess that's okay.

11. And there's that matter of kryptonite. Would we have to grant him
sancturary, knowing if we gathered some of those asteroids together and exiled him to that prison planet, that he would die of contamination. Would that be cruel and unusual punishment under interstellar law?

5. It's hypocrisy. That's what's up with that.
It's wrong to support your heritage, but it's okay to support a treasonous, racist movement.
:grr:

Every time I hear some schmuck say that the south will rise again I wonder how quick they are to accuse others of being UnAmerican.

But then again, the confederate flag represents white supremacy, not a a country of primarily brown people.

... if someone puts their race, heritage, religion, whatever above being a United States citizen.

And no nation should be given special privileges over other nations just because of geography.

14. Isn't it enough that he is fighting for Truth, Justice, and the
American Way? Is that enough for citizenship without the waiting period? He could speed read and memorize the Constitution, so he would probably ace that test. Since no one pays him for his good deeds, or he accepts no payments, would he have to reveal his secret identity to show that he would not become a ward of the state?

19. Well, you know only southern white boys
have the right to be unpatriotic, withdraw from the Union, engage in bloody conflict, and then celebrate their flag as "heritage" from a four year country which wasn't recognized by most of the world.

21. And Also Have The Heritage Of Having Relatives Massacred
by Yankees and buried in a mass grave.

Huntsville massacre.

Retaliation for guerilla attacks on Union Troops

There's a lot more to heritage than "racisim"

I don't celebrate the confederate flag, but some of my ancestors were killed in the Huntsville, Arkansas Massacre, and buried in a mass grave.

These scenes were not uncommon in the South.

Generations later, there is still animosity about the way the North treated the South after the war.

22. Here in West Texas, you'll see
Mexican flags all over the place.

Some guy even has his trash cans painted like Mexican flags.

I never really gave it any thought. You'll certainly see a lot more Mexican flags than Confederate flags around here. Never heard anyone make an issue out of it.

23. some of my ancestors got here before immigration laws
Lemme' see-
-grandma's family came from England in 18th century (possibly 17th), what immigration dept.? ... get out the ol' Union Jack
-grandpa's family came from Germany and Switzerland in the 1850s, time for the German and Swiss flags
-other grandpa's family is Acadian-French, in Lousiana & Texas previous to Civil War, time for the French flag...
-the rest came after the Civil War, and probably went through some kind of legal process

I think my hands would be full of flags... since so many ancestors sort of "showed up" on these fair shores...

:)

24. Freepers should be waving the Mexican flag on Cinco de Mayo
Shouldn't they?

After all, Cinco de Mayo celebrates the big Mexican victory over the FRENCH in 1862.
