12. Traveling via private jet? Buying drugs locally? Chartering huge yacht?
Edited on Fri Apr-28-06 03:39 PM by Divernan
There are mini Queen Mary's for charter with sharply uniformed crews of 10 or more. You see many of them at places like St. Barth's and the people who charter them look like Columbian drug lords. That's about Abramoff's speed and style. He's not allowed to leave the country, but could have had one of those floating palaces brought up to Miami. Just one possibility.

14. Well....it doesn't say how long the vacation is, or where they're staying.
It may not be as expensive as NYC, but I'm positive there are some very NICE hotels, very exclusive restaurants, and golf clubs in Fl!

I personally would never do that, but I remember reaming out one of our salesmen for spending $15,000 in ONE DAY to take a customer golfing in Palm Springs, and there wasn't even a hotel bill associated with that little escapade!

5. Oh PLEASE.
If I'm flat broke my friends help with bills or something... not extravangant vacations.

How long will it take the average American to figure out we're living in a new Gilded Age? Or hell, to CARE?!

6. His vacation costs more than most families make in a year
and he's broke? Right.
:eyes:

But it's okay because the money was filtered through family members. Okay?

18. it is a class war yet? (on US)
this shit has to stop. these people are theives. the bushies have had one vision from the start of the family and that is capitalistic warfare. they've been stealing our country right out from under us. it's a class war and we're the vanquished.

when you have people appealing to DU for crisis healthcare
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x1050023

and on the same board, all sorts of discussion about felons on $40,000 VACATIONS -- and don't forget the CEO Pay calculator on the side. it's about the money, not the glory.

us plebes have been brought up to put up and shut up. it's uncooth to pick on people's paychecks. well, the pendulum swings the other way. these fuckers have got to go down.

(sorry for the rant -- been listening to the ken lay news)

23. We need some serious class warfare
fighting from the bottom upward. It seems to me that we have constant class warfare, but only in one direction. It comes from the top and pushes down.

that was too much for even Wolfie to stomach. Abramoff's supposed to be a devout/orthodox Jew.

17. His uncle cheney and uncle bush
aunt condie and cousin rummy. That's who paid for this $40K vacation. Where does one go for $40K? Especially, when you consider that this is a convicted felon, pre-prison.
