Meth and the Stars and Bars
Two things I hate:

About a week ago a truck drove up the road that was festooned with the Stars and Bars - the flag of the Confederacy. The moment I saw the truck my mind's eye pictured the driver. Halfwit ape with prejudices that would curdle milk, and not one good god damned reason on the face of God's green earth to harbor them. No one has ever done anything to that mindless little droid with his bullshit flags the size of blankets flapping in the Toyota produced wind.

Know what else country halfwits do? They do Crystal Meth. They do it in every country county and local Sheriffs can't do a single thing to so much as slow it down. Meth is more common than square-bale hay balers these days. Everyone knows about it and out here in the rural areas it is hated with a vengeance normally reserved for hell itself.

I needed to do something about this.

Turns out the flag-draped truck belongs to the boyfriend of a neighbor's busty young rodeo-queen of a daughter. I've known the neighbor and his wife since they were teenagers themselves. Good people. He's a miner and she's just sweet and stupid. He is illiterate, I don't know about here. This I could work with.

Sally (mother of teenage rodeo-queen) stopped to chat yesterday. She does often. My wife and I are 30 years her senior and she is from a family who drilled respect for elders into her since three days before the crucification. I said something to her that had an effect. Might have an effect on the whole county before long. If you spread the word in your part of the word it might have an effect where you are as well.

Here is what I said to her. I said "Why you lettin' that boy mess around with April (name of teenage rodeo queen)?" Sally says "Why, what's wrong with him?" I said "Shit, he's flying the drug dealers billboard." "What?" she said. I said "I saw it on 60 minutes or somewhere, that flag, the old Confederate flag, its what the Meth dealers are using now to let customers know they have shit to sell." I continues, "When they have drugs to sell they just put up the flag in the truck and users who want some just honk or wave or flash their lights at them. They're doing it everywhere". She said "Shit, I didn't know that. I'm gonna have a talk with that boy." The conversation went on to other things.

The boy just drove by on his way to April's folks house. No flags. Methinks the boy have have had a talkin' to.

Spread the word where you live. The display of the Stars and Bars is a sign for drug users. Mention it to your neighbors. You'd be surprised what might happen.

3. Good idea, but it's going to wipe out the decor in biker bars
all over the country, where's a symbol of "Hunh, can't nobody push ME around.<snort, spit>" Around here it's all word of mouth. I haven't seen a single Stars & Bars here in NM outside redneck and biker bars. It's very much frowned on in a state that's minority white. Plus, NM kicked Texas's ass in the Civil War.

In any case, true or not, it's a great thing to pass around, especially in the rural south. If I ever get out that way again, I'll be sure to mention it.

I don't know what the meth dealers do to advertise they've got a fresh batch cooked up. They probably just hang out at the people's pharmacy in the library parking lot at the end of my block with all the dealers pushing Mexican black tar heroin.

4. My grandfather hated people who lied
he had a saying: a man who lies to try and prove something, only proves something about hisself

he also used to say: a lie will come back to bite you in the ass, everytime

5. I don't know what they do around here
Lord knows there's plenty of meth and meth freaks, I haven't paid much attention to it really, it's not hard to spot a meth freak and I usually avoid them.
