MSNBC: "Did Rove Coordinate Testimony With Libby?"
MSNBC: No decision on Rove for at least a week; 'Did Rove coordinate testimony with Libby?'

David Shuster: "For Karl Rove, the drama is going to continue for a while. Sources close to Rove say his legal team has been told by prosecutors that no indictment decision will be made for at least another week. It means that even though Rove on Wednesday answered questions for three and a half hours, prosecutors are still unwilling to clear him or signal that his answers satisifed the grand jury.

Scott Fredericksen, former independent counsel: "The fact is, this is high risk strategy. But if Mr. Rove had said, I'm not going in there for a 5th time, I think that would have been a guarantee of an indictment."
............
Another area of potential concern for Karl Rove involves an issue raised by pleadings in the Scooter Libby case. Prosecutors allege that Libby coordinated some of his actions with other white house officials including Rove. Rove is part of the prosecution narrative against Libby. And one document alleges Libby tried to mislead or confuse investigators by testifying he had a conversation with a reporter when the evidence shows it was Rove who had the conversation with the reporter.

Did Libby and Rove coordinate their testimony? And what does it mean for the overall investigation? In court documents, Fitzgerald says the investigation remains active.

And legal experts point out the big danger for Karl Rove is that the grand jury may have evidence Rove is not aware of. The only player in this drama who knows for sure is Fitzgerald -- who declined to clear Rove following his testimony and would only tell Rove's legal team that a decision on the presidential advisor will take at least ten days. I'm David Shuster, for Hardball, in Washington.

3. Karl has hired a crisis manager.
You don't hire a gardner if you don't have plans for a garden.

You don't hire a cook to go on a hunger strike.

You don't hire a chauffeur if you don't have a car.

You don't have to hire a weatherman to know which way this wind is blowing.

4. all true
and I doubt it's gonna take Fitzgerald or the grand jury 10 days to decide whether or not they want to indict Rove. I'm guessing the question is how many counts. I expect Luskin is angling for a sweet plea deal that will not be forthcoming. :nopity:

9. Hey, let him twist slowly, slowly in the wind.....
The longer he waits for the shoe to drop, the crazier it will make him. He works best at a fast pace. The drip, drip, drip, tick, tock, tick tock will drive him Edgar Allan Poe/batshit crazy!

18. Rove's crisis manager - WaPo 10/28/05

Rove himself was making contingency plans, which included having allies begin to assemble a legal and political team in case he is eventually indicted.

Mark Corallo, a former spokesman for the Justice Department, would be part of the public relations defense team, according to a person familiar with the plan

22. Question: is the delay of ten days, or a couple weeks, intended
to add further pressure and give key players time to consider bringing more to the table?

6. I can't seem to find the Truthout Article by Leopold
from April 26th that said Rove/Luskin had already recieved the infamous Target Letter, does anyone have a link to Truthout's/Leopold's article that says that?

From what I've been told and read by Prosecutors and Legals once a Target Letter is sent that an Indictment comes down within HOURS.

I hope Truthout hasn't pulled the article without giving some reason.

So, does anyone know if it's still there?

Jason Leopold | Target Letter Drives Rove Back to Grand Jury

http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/042606I.shtml

<snip>

Jason Leopold examines the facts: "Karl Rove's appearance before a grand jury in the CIA leak case Wednesday comes on the heels of a 'target letter' sent to his attorney recently by Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, signaling that the Deputy White House Chief of Staff may face imminent indictment, sources that are knowledgeable about the probe said Wednesday."

7. Do BEARS shit in the woods???
Remember, a few weeks ago, when David Gregory asked Scotty McClellan WHY Scooter was seen in the White House mess that week?? And Scotty had no answer??

I think that was a "We're fucked!" lunch!! Either that, or a "Tell 'em THIS bullshit..." lunch. Or a "What the fuck did you say to them--THINK, you asshole, THINK!!!!" lunch.....

11. If Rove and Libby colluded together
and if others in the WH are involved, then there is a good reason Fitzgerald needs a little more time. I think this case has a life of it's own that just keeps expanding in different directions. Fitzgerald knows he is likely to end Bush's administration and if your actions are going to cause the downfall of a presidency, you better have your friggin' ducks in a row.
