Let's frame this properly--help, DU Smarties!

I think the Community is going to show us how peaceful protest is conducted and for that inspiration we shall be grateful.

1. frame what properly? depends on who is using your terms.
americans is generally a term referring to people who are citizens of the USA. Most people from Mexico and countries to the south do not refer to themselves as Americans, but rather as associated with their own country, ie, Mexican, Argentinian, etc.

in Mexico, "north american" is a sometimes derisive term that refers to citizens of the USA, similar to the derisive term "gringo", which is similar to the english epithet "beaner" used to refer to mexicans.

there is much diversity within the community generally defined as latino/hispanic, and much division. around here there is a wide variety of self descriptive titles chosen by people within that latina/hispanic group.

so which terms used by which people?
