1. Rove must spend his time defending himself in court rather than concocting dirty tricks against Democrats; or

2. Bush will have to pardon him up front, which won't look good.

It will also lay to rest the nonsense about this being a trivial matter, as if that hasn't already been refuted.

If indicted, Rove's attorneys will be able to stall and stall and stall until Bush is out of office. In the meantime, Rove will stay at work in the WH and continue doing what he always does. Bush will say he doesn't need to quit because he is innocent until proven guilty in a trial and convicted.

In other words, Bush will once again tell the American public: FUCK YOU!!!

If there is an indictment -- that 'if' looms big I concede -- then Rove would be under tremendous pressure to resign. If he does not, or if Bush tries to retain him, the outcry from Congress, including Republicans, would be deafening.

If Rove goes, Bush is more wounded than he ever imagined he would be, and his reason would likely become unhinged. It's already marginal. The booze and antidepressants intake increase and pretty soon he's carried away to an asylum, preferrably in the Seychelles.

would mean that the stealing of elections (something he's a veritable master at) will be left to people with a lot less experience. The dirty tricks won't be as smooth, the buy-offs will be a lot sloppier and the American Public, faced with an avalanche of new, irrefutable evidence as to how Repugs DO steal elections, will finally realize that maybe perhaps those damn Libs weren't just all a bunch of whining, crybabies and maybe perhaps just possibly 2000, 2002 and 2004 WERE rigged for Bush and his cronies!
