Callous, bad taste, and embarrassing for Bush to appear at the
WHC and lampoon anyone including himself. He should not appear at any events while our children are killing and being killed to protect his oil buddies and the oligarchy here at home. People can't feed their children and oil costs are driving some families to panic, people are losing homes to foreclosures because of being sucked into an usurious and evil banking system. Bush has no right to even smile.

1. I'm certain he WISHES he hadn't gone this year if it is any
consolation. Bush* got royally skewered this year via Colbert.

3. It's one thing to make a few self-deprecating jokes...
it's another to completely humiliate yourself and your nation by showing you have no idea what dignity is.

His whole "look how dumb I am" schtick was completely mortifying. Like Reagan joking about bombing Russia in five minutes, some things just aren't funny when the president says them. Ugh.

4. It was priceless
Bush and the media had to sit there while Colbert reamed them a new one. Stephen was brilliant.

Whatever smile Bush had on his face was the smile of a very uncomfortable man being made a fool of. Priceless.

7. Yuck, when he got all "serious" and thanked the troops I almost puked
My boyfriend is on his third deployment in four and a half years and believe me, he doesn't want the idiot son's thanks.

8. One of the most disgusting things I saw him do at one of these dinners
Edited on Sun Apr-30-06 12:01 AM by OmmmSweetOmmm
three years ago was to show a video of himself looking under his desk in the oval office for WMD.

9. Sad thing is that there are too many voters that think this is great.
.
.
.

I hate to put people into categories, but there are far too many gun-toting "rednecks" down there that are quite happy to see their "leader" making war and slaughtering people all over the globe.

and I'll bet many of them were spilling their beer, laughing with glee at their leader's mockery of the "other" people in the USA

and that's what it is

Bush is mocking the "serious" people in the USA who expect a REAL democracy

That is wishful thinking indeed

Although I hate to say it

PNACers are winning

(sigh)

It's tradition, and it is tradition for the President to make a humorous speech.
