He did a mock press conference as if he was the WH Press Secretary. He had buttons on his podium to press when he needed someone like, uh, GANNON - that he could press for emergency. Then at the end he had Helen Thomas chase him out of the WH into the parking garage and all the way to New York (she was the chauffeur of his limo)..


I was simply dying in laughter.

18. It was the White House Correspondent Association Dinner

where they traditionally roast the current regime. Colbert was the "keynote" speaker. He bashed both the president and the media pretty soundly, in his sarcastic, Colbert kind of way. I just caught the rebroadcast on C-SPAN online. I suspect they will play it again.

I was wondering the same thing myself and asked, and although everybody alluded to the broadcast, NOBODY told me what was going on! How infuriating! Therefore, I felt it my duty to try to spell it out clearly.

omg I had only caught the little skit he did when i turned on MSNBC and saw some guy looking pretty miffed talking about how steve flopped and it wasn't funny and it was all one sided he didn't make fun of the dems..blah blah...I thought jeez the skit was cute what is he all huffy about...AND THEN..I caught the rerun on c span...OMG he nailed Bush and press to wall ...man it was just great!!!!

I have seen in years. I can't quit bursting out in chuckles. God I hope he is OK, that took guts. Helen Thomas, what a great woman, I loved that scene.
