I have to give it to Scalia. He really enjoyed the parody
aimed at him by Colbert. Probably the only one in the room there not afraid to really laugh.

8. Oh, I'm not saying it wasn't
I'm suggesting that the laugh was a deliberate "reaction."

3. He did.
I may not agree with any of his politics, but I give him props for being able to laugh at himself.

6. Hey. The blivet laughs, but he never amuses me. Consider how
suspect it is that CSPAN showed Scalia and no one else laughing.

9. Scalia knew he was on camera
and had to suck it up..
and boy did Colbert cram it down.

The genius of Colbert tonight is that he
nailed each one of these republican goons
on their own misdeeds and weaknesses.
Hoisted on their own pittards.
The truth has never been so sweet,

11. When you watch the bit again, notice Scalia's folded arms with
the balled-up fist tucked beneath.

Smiling faces, sometimes...

16. Scalia was laughing his head off!
Anyone who can't acknowledge that has a chip on their shoulder. I was actually amused at how hard Scalia was laughing at that bit. There's no denying that he enjoyed the joke, regardless of what we think of him, he apparently has a sense of humor.

17. I've been called a "chippy" before.
I saw him laughing. And I also saw the body language.

But maybe he was thinking of something else. I guess we'll never know for sure. Certainly, he's powerful and arrogant enough to laugh off a crack by a TEEVEE comic.
