AP doesn't seem to know Colbert criticized them
-Or they just decided to keep it a secret. Down the page in this article, they give him 3 sentences as featured speaker. There's nothing there to indicate that the satire was directed at the press at all-

Bush in ‘chipper’ mood at reporters’ dinner
WASHINGTON - It was twice the fun for members of the White House Correspondents’ Association and guests Saturday night when President Bush and a look-alike, sound-alike sidekick poked fun at the president and fellow politicians.

9. My first thought when he said 'chipper' ...
... was the scene in "Fargo", when the body parts were found ground up in the wood-chipper.

That's probably how Bush felt tonight after Colbert got going ...

8. I'd be really surprised if Colbert's appearance tonight didn't get
a lot of play. If it doesn't, I'll be as annoyed as I've ever been with the corp. media whores.
