Guess they didn't notice the impersonator really skewered him. I don't think Bush realized how far this would go. I think FR is deep in denial but pretending Colbert doesn't exist won't save them! They are desperate. One Of their peeps even complained that no one seemed angered by Colbert's disrespect! Maybe some agreed with Stephen!

3. freepers are less than idiots
I often wonder why anyone here tracks their activities. Maybe some like monitoring billbugs or earthworms. It doesn't do much for me intellectually.

No time to post in their own universe. They're invading.

Or maybe I'm crazy.

6. Just like the MSM is saying nothing! WAPO wasn't trying to make a deadline
they posted their story about 11 minutes ago! They had hours and barely mentioned Colbert! This is a concerted effort to diminish what he said. It "never happened'! DH and I think that CSPAN might edit the tape too!

14. Or maybe they had to get the article approved by several diverent...
..."people" at the WH? Wouldn't want to upset "the president."

I hesitate to even call the people.

10. The silence speaks louder than words
It screams.

Get the video, convert it to MPEG-2, burn it in SVCD or DVD format onto a CD, and give it out. Fifty blank CDs cost $5 on sale.

I'm suprised no one is doing this -- except me.

15. I'll be doing it.
I work at a newsstand and I'll be handing them out to anyone who hasn't seen it. Or to anyone who just wants a copy for keeps.

19. And don't forget ...
Make sure to write "COPY AND RE-DISTRIBUTE!" on the CD (or words to that effect).

A Sharpie works well.

I'll also be adding a few other select clips to the collection.

Good luck!

12. I think it may be BUSH'S comedy routine that may backfire on him
Far too many people no longer find his "amiable dumbell" routine to be charming.

He's supposed to be a PRESIDENT for cry-eye. too many wretched things have occured in this country.

For Bush to make jokes about being a clueless goof in the midst of it all is like a "let them eat cake" moment.

13. I hate to judge, but I have to say, most of them are too stupid to form...
...an opinion on their own.

It will probably be a few days before they figure out what he was talking about, or after one of the RW Hate radio or Fox "news" commentators tell them what to think.

16. Hear no wevil, See no wevil, uh... Hear no wevil?
For Republicans (and their ilk),

-- if the Ministry of Truth changes history (even history as recent as mere hours) to suit Big Brother, including intentionally ignoring some event/pretending something simply didn't happen--they're so conditioned to believe what they're told, so skilled in avoiding reality, in overcoming any natural tendency to compare what's reported with what actually happened, so comfortable with "Doublethink"**, whatever it was actually didn't happen.

-- if the great Pharoh doesn't state "So let it be written"--and therefore the public scribes don't report an event, whatever it was simple never happened.

**Doublethink:
  • (1)believing two contradictory ideas at the same time, (2) Reality Control. --George Orwell, 1984

  • Logically Related Word (Psychology): Denial

Edited on Sun Apr-30-06 06:38 AM by caledesi
So the freeps were posting waiting for Colbert (get this, they didn't know Colbert is satire; thought his show was for real) I know this bec a few weeks ago I was lurking and they were praising him. Oh boy, did they get a surprise when he came on. They went nuts. Look for the thread. It's so funny watching them go crazy.

Found it: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1623916/posts

edit: add thread

18. the Helen Thomas bit was creepy...
I mean, yeah, WHY did we go to war? I mean, that was like let the cat out of the bag and paraded it around the room. I just don't see how anyone allows that whole event in the first place; making jokes while people are dead by countless thousands cuz this "President" is corrupt lunatic/Hitler wanna-be
