U.S. rejects Iran inspection offer
(CNN) -- Iran will allow snap inspections of its nuclear facilities if the U.N. Security Council does not get involved in the country's nuclear program, a senior Iranian official has said.

But Washington was quick to reject the offer.

"Today's statement does not change our position that the Iranian government must give up its nuclear ambitions, nor does it affect our decision to move forward to the United Nations Security Council," The Associated Press reported White House spokesman Blaine Rethmeier as saying.

Iran wants to deal solely with the U.N. nuclear inspection group -- the International Atomic Energy Agency --according to Muhammad Saeedi, deputy head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency.

5. predictable. bushco reserves the right to be able to kill everyone on the
planet without any possible challenge.
they also reserve the right to make and stockpile all manner or WMD and threaten other countries with them.

6. If the UN takes Iran up on its offer on inspections, the US has nothing
to decisively say about it, as the latter accepted the UN as the mediary in the matter and the program proposed. And if the US protests, then the * regime is showing its hand (again) that it intended to use the UN as a vehicle to further its program instead of doing it unilaterally.

Aw, WTF, * will probably bomb (or let Israel bomb) Iran anyway . . .

where they can file a chapter 7 complaint like the one that they used to justify military action against Iraq. chapter 7 has action provisions including sanctions and military force.

That's why Iran wants the dispute to stay within the IAEA.

my take: The US Doesn't Give A Damn About A UN Resolution
