Outgoing Dictator Silvio Berlusconi Has More Balls Than The Chimp!
At least he shows up for the return of Dead soldiers. Though I doubt his tears are real.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi reacts as he attends the arrival of the bodies of three military personnel killed in Iraq, at Ciampino airport near Rome April 29, 2006. A roadside bomb killed three Italian soldiers in Iraq on April 27, 2006, exposing long-standing divisions within Romano Prodi's government-in-waiting on the timing of a withdrawal. Berlusconi said on Saturday he would resign, ending three weeks of wrangling over a narrow election defeat and clearing the political decks for Romano Prodi to take power. REUTERS/Giampiero Sposito

1. Maybe so, but he's still a total asshole
He's "resigning", as if that's going to make people forget he was thrashed in the election.

2. He's crying because he knows when he steps down from office he has to
go to jail. A bunch of his colleagues were prosecuted and jailed while he was in office -- which explains why Berlusconi wrote and passed laws that say that people in office can't be prosecuted. The day he steps down from office he is fair game! That is why they tried to steal the elections from Prodi -- they just didn't steal quit enough votes...

:grr:

3. Doesn't everybody have more?????
Sure Berlusconi is an AH, but at least he accepted the votes of the people in Italy, and after some posturing, he said he's stepping down! That's a lot more than you can say for Shrub too!

4. Eh...Italians, even the few asshole-Italians, wear their hearts on their
sleeves. It's one of the many nice cultural aspects of that nation.

When service personnel die over there as a result of a military-related event, it IS a big deal, even during peacetime, because it is not a common occurence.

Though I wouldn't put it past Sylvio to be playing to the cameras a bit in anticipation of future political gain...you know full well he will challenge this new government as soon as he possibly can, and will work like the dickens to put up roadblocks, cause dissention, and make life miserable for Prodi as early and as often as possible.
