Which is located in Central Washington state and the beautiful Columbia River winds through the home to nuclear waste and failed breeder reactor?

we're no killing the planet...we're killing ourselves.

If that brew hits the major rivers, its going to decimate that region. And we thought Katrina was bad.

Gezzz.... this is really disturbing.

32. My company employs Bechtel contractors
Edited on Sun Apr-30-06 06:20 PM by Hope2006
They work in our engineering department.

In the past, they made unreasonable demands about accommodations, and were highly displeased that our company differentiates between contractors and employees.

I couldn't believe their audacity...but, then, I think Bechtel as a whole encourages this attitude.

30. Hanford is a scary place...
My brother worked out there back in the late 70's as a pipefitter. On his last day on the job I had to drive out from Pasco to pick him up. I had to pass through at least 2 guard stations as I drove down this long road road through the desert. There would be a signs with long acronyms pointing to roads that literally went over the hill to nowhere. It was creepy because of all the secrecy. Especially to me, a young hippie who mistrusted the government anyway.

At that time the Tri-Cities was still very GungHo nuclear energy. My brother went in a proponent but left Hanford completely anti-nuclear anything. He basically left a job where he was making about $100K per year because he was worried about his unborn children. He never said much more beyond that.

jail, becasue we KNOW that people will die because of this. And lets not even talk about the environmental disaster to the entire area that will affect animals and vegetation.
