Seminal moment ignored by the MSM Part II
Colbert WAS seminal, it was powerful and it was important. Unfortunately, it will only be seen by a small group - who the heck do you think watches an entire broadcast of The White House Correspondents dinner on C-Span for God's sake? A show on mounting butterflies on the Hobby channel probably gets higher ratings. (BTW, I'm not talking about that group of Americans who have abandoned MSM for the internet as their major news source and who have had the pleasure of witnessing Colbert in all his glory)

Anyway, this ranks right along with Part I - Al Gore's speech on MLK day - ALSO seminal, powerful and important and also almost totally ignored by the pathetic mainstream of American news and commentary.

1. When Olbermann caves...the last seminal thing in this country
that got covered by the MSM was Monica's dress.

2. This word seminal...I don't think it means what you think it means
Colbert's speech has apparently fired up DU, and that's about it.

5. This is how I am using that phrase
From the Miriam webster online dictionary

2 : containing or contributing the seeds of later development : CREATIVE, ORIGINAL <a seminal book> <one of the most seminal of the great poets>
- sem·i·nal·ly /-n&l-E/ adverb

I have always taken it to mean an event that planted seeds that caused change.

4. don't worry, many are monitoring the blogs now
they are worried about it's power, I am sure that many have seen the Colbert video, just
to tap into what the bloggers are talking about.

6. I just read 500k downloads from Crooks & Liars. That's just the beginning
too, as word gets around. I wouldn't worry about the hasbeens and wannabees on the corporate media. Colbert has star power, we know it, they know it, they know we know it, we know they know it.
I am trying to feel pity.
