Video does lie...

I just came from the Judicial Watch website (JudicialWatch.com) for this nifty video that would dispell all the 9/11 conspiracy theories.

As far as I'm concerned, it's garbage. First of all this is exactly the video that I figured they were talking about when I first heard of the release of this end all, be all video. The first time I saw it was actually on 9/11. In all the flood of imagery that was being broadcast at the time it was probably the first piece of footage any network got hold of when it came to the attack on the Pentagon.

Now I have to admit it. The first time I saw it, it fooled the hell out of me. In the aftermath of the attacks looking at the wreckage of both the twin towers an the pentagon it was hard to take it all in and so it was an effective put off. A convenient excuse to put aside the doubts I had that very day about the validity of the official account of the attack on this country that killed so many. Oh, but make no mistake... I had doubts.

The first time I saw the view from above the pentagon and the smoldering wreckage of the side of the building I could only think one thing. "What... That's it?! You mean to tell two planes nail both twin towers and sends them crumbling to the ground in a plume of dust that damn near covered the entire city of New York... but the same type of plane with the same amount of fuel in it slam clean and head on into the side of the Pentagon and that's all that happened?

A caved in roof... blown out windows... scorch marks on the walls... a decent sized hole... Oh hell naw. Half that complex should have been OBLITERATED! And that's exactly what I thought... until I saw that video that is. Until I saw the big ball of fire. That mini conflagration made it easy to let go of the doubts. Made it simple not to deal with the facts that were perfectly obvious by the vastly understated damage that happened to a set of buildings that couldn't have been half the mass of either one of those towers. Which is to say nothing of the pristine nature of the Pentagon lawn or the fact that no matter how hot the fire was the fact is the wreckage of the plane wouldn't have simply evaporated. (Somebody show me an actual plane in that wreckage and I'll think about changing my mind.)

Well I can't say that I've never repeated a mistake in this life, but I won't be fooled again. This video that is only being rehashed now won't fool me again. You want to show me a video that dispells my doubts? Show me the video from the traffic cam above the Virginia Transportation Authority that woul have shown the plane passing over the interstate into Maryland as it approached the pentagon. Show me the video confiscated from the camera on the roof of the hotel (I believe it was a Marriot) that had full view of the Pentagon... or the security cam from the gas station that's the last structure you pass before you head onto the grounds of the Pentagon... both of which have NEVER been released.

We'll see if Judicial Watch files suit over those. Now if they can show me a 747 flying about 20' above the ground, being set on an excellent approach path by a pilot, that by the reports of the folks who trained him in flight school, as far as being a pilot goes, couldn't find his ass with both hands and a flashlight. Show it to W... no, I take that back. Don't show it to me.

3. I dunno if you would get much out of the gas station

It's in a bowl of sorts. While you are standing by your car, you cannot see the Pentagon. I know that pictures taken (at great height) make it appear as though you could, but unless you are taller than David Gregory, you might see nothing more than a slice of the roof. That said, the security cameras might have gotten a glimpse, but the ones I recall were over the door, under the canopy, and pointed at the pumps. There are also cameras at the ATM around the side, but those are contained within the ATM and point at the ATM customers.

The second video is clearer than the first to my eyes, FWIW.

4. If the evidence of the plane is so clear and indisputable

why can't we simply see it? Seems that would shut up most of the conspiracy nuts right away. If ever a party is determined to NOT show evidence, my automatic response is suspicion of their assertions. They could get my silence so easily: release ALL other video evidence of the attack. Who could that hurt at this point?

Only Shrub and his devotees. If it could help him, why hasn't it been released?
