friend just heard this on CNN... re: Cheney - Plame leak
A friend just called to tell me CNN headline news reported that Cheney was quoted today that Bush is the one who approved the leaking... (Plame) Did anyone see this or hear about it ?
This is old news, but what is going on ???

12. I disagree...
During Libby's October indictment, Fitzgerald stated that Plame was covert at the time she was outed. Which means whoever did it, it was a crime!!

I know they say Bush declassified some info but he didn't declassify it until about a week AFTER she was outed so it was still a crime.

Yeah, I know Bush claims that he doesn't have to obey laws but that's not what he claimed when he took the oath of office.

19. My point was
Libby/Cheney would testify Bush ordered it before it was leaked and - presto! - it would be declassified.

21. yes, I realize they would try that.....
....however I think the legal system might not agree with that story.

As I understand it, there is a certain procedure that must be followed to declassify something. The President can't just say it's declassified and bingo! It's done!

22. I don't know
but I wonder if what you say is true. It seems to me Bush has revealed classified information before in press conferences.

23. when did he reveal classified info before?
Mostly Bush seems to say as little as possible and to keep specific info secret.........at least that's how it seems to me.

13. Wasn't it that bush "declassified" the info,
meaning no crime was committed? If this is true, it could be why Fitz only brought charges of lying and obstruction against Libby...and against rove, if that happens. If bush approved the leak, viola! no crime. Disgusting.

20. That may be the defense
they were trying to establish, prompting Fitz to bring the perjury charges.

5. Need confirmation on this quote
And play it continuously!

Fitz must have the pressure on, this is the point to where they point fingers at everyone involved.

Things are looking good!

16. Bush has been set up since the beginning. He could take credit
for the good stuff, with Cheney "secretly" enjoying the success, and he can be the fall guy when the American public FINALLY opens its eyes. He is expendable. He has played his role as puppet. I bet they are surprised it worked for so long. All they needed was one term plus the "reelection" to get their control over us.
