For fear he would be discovered. He liked to have the secret exits and the military trappings. He did not wish to be amongst the common folk - for fear they would discover the real person, a coward. A sniveling, smirking coward. So he hid.

He kept his propagandists close at all times. There was no problem in the world that could not be explained away with the right propagandists. He could make them believe black was white and that day was night. He was living his life-long dream - he wanted to be a dictator.

For, you see, the Presidency was equal to the other two Branches. In fact, the Presidency was exempt from the law. He could not distinguish between a strong leader and a psychopath. To be strong was to win. No matter what the game. Whether it be politics or war, a strong leader only wants to win, he told himself. And the clowns cheered on.
