i was struck by how eerily similarly lieberman wants to hold on to his
senate seat as bush wants to hold on to his war in iraq.

they each grasp at straws. they each use the word TERRORISTS to justify their stay the course thing.
lieberman has been in the senate 18 years and wants to work for healthcare, etc., NOW?

LIEBERMAN seems to be more about lieberman than anything else, just like bush seems to be about bush more than anything else.

twins separated at birth?

2. I don't think we've seen sitting Senators act like this before because
few, if any, were as disliked as Joe during their reelection campaign.

I don't fault him for wanting to hold onto his job, that's kind of a given. I actually think he might be able to save his job IF he would say "I was wrong, I see that now, and I'm sorry. I have changed my opinions on many things and I will commit to support the Dems of CT!" But of course he can't do THAT!

4. Well being a democrat in name only it is difficult to think of anyone
...but yourself and in this case retaining his power seat in the senate. It's going to make the race very tight in CT for democrats which is exactly what the republicans want. Lieberman has really become the Dim Son of the democratic party. What a disappointment this guy is.

5. Joe Foresakes His Party Just To Keep "His" Senate Seat
Willing to run as an independent if he loses the primary.

It's all about "him".
