Rummy responds to Iraq PM questioning US troop immunity:

http://www.marinetimes.com/story.php?f=1-292925-1946265.php

<snip>

Rumsfeld also indicated on his flight to Iraq that he did not expect any change for now in the legal arrangement under which American troops fighting in Iraq are immune from domestic laws. Some Iraqi leaders have questioned that immunity in light of a recent string of allegations of murder and other atrocities committed by U.S. troops against Iraqi civilians.

He said the Iraqis are free to say what they want, but that with regard to the handling of allegations against U.S. service members, “It’s being handled as it should be.”

1. Well that'll go a long ways towards making Iraq a more stable place.
Yeah, the general public there will definitely not sympathize more with the insurgents over this... definitely not.

4. arrogant SOB
"handled as it should be" means being swept under the rug. And don't think the Iraqis don't know this. :grr:

5. “It’s being handled as it should be.” Translation: We're still in charge.
Message: Take that, Iraqis! We have come into your country under false pretenses, removed your government, ruined your infrastructure, killed your family members, raped your children, and we will continue to do as we see fit.

We're still in charge.

Disgusting that America has come to this. We are the terrorists, now. :(
