Every caller who was able to get on and express criticism of Israel's latest actions (at least the ones I heard)made very sound, and non-inflammatory statements of their opinions and some of the facts. The vitriol and hate came from the pro-Israeli side and quickly brought charges of the other side being "stupid" "ignorant" and of course, the good ole stand-by "anti-semitic." The only people calling for more violence in the form of leveling Beirut and carpet bombing Syria and calling on the US to go in and help with this carnage came from the pro-Israeli callers who were so filled with hate that many could hardly speak. This tells me a lot about what the world is facing and as one caller pointed out, the well-known media folks always spin in favor of Israel and fail to give a balanced picture of what is really going on in the ME. But then, we all already know that, no matter what side you take. One caller who made the point that people should take a careful look at the map and understand that the latest incursion into Beirut could be part of a plan by Israel to take over and control all the waterways to the ME. The caller was quickly maligned as "ignorant" and anti-Semitic.
This is just an observation but it is indicative of the larger picture of how the US is on its way down with its current policies.
