Interview w/ Bush's old speechwriter...
http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2006/008/9.38.html

A lot of this I don't agree with, but I'm wondering especially about the stuff mentioned about Africa and what Bush has done there to fight AIDS. If anyone has some good sources that give info on the issues mentioned in this article, I'd love to see the links.

I know this interview is annoying, but I am requesting that this thread not turn into a "Christians suck" thread...I'm posting this as a Christian trying to find sources to counter what this dude is saying b/c I don't feel it's an accurate portrayal of the Bush admin...at all.

1. Bush plan was a big Pharma payoff
PEPFAR Paying More Than Twice as Much for Many AIDS Drugs as Other Aid Organizations, Draft GAO Report Says

Rest assured Bush didn't do it from the goodness of his heart.
His plan denied purchase of generic drugs for aids and the drugs had to be purchased from US Big Pharma.

2. abstinance only pretty much scraped his AIDS aid
but Clinton is really doing a good job, bringing generics to Africa and paying for life-time care...

4. I like their article titled "What to Say at a Naked Party."
Seriously, this site has articles by Ted Olsen. I vaguely remember something said about Bush's terrific, humanitarian $15 billion committment to fighting AIDS, that he had diverted much of the money from other children's programs.
