Veterans for Peace were here today!
Kudos to VFP! A couple of volunteers were parked in Norman (OK)today with a big bus, a tent and a sign that read "Drive-Thru Impeachment." It was such a welcome sight. I had just left campus, where a couple of crazy-ass travelling preachers were condemning passing students to hell and damnation. So a little peace and love was such an excellent way to close down the day.

I signed their impeachment petition and judging by the number of signatures they had gathered already, and by the honks and peace signs they got in the short time I stopped by, it seems as though they'd had a good day. I know just seeing them and talking to them for a few minutes inspired me all over again. I wish I could have donated more than the little $4 I had in my wallet, to help them get to D.C.

1. Great story, and the inspiration was great! I wonder what their
route is; I'm thinking they're going to DC? If you gave them your last $4 in your wallet, that was very generous!

3. I don't know what their route was, I was wondering too.
I should have asked. I would have loved to talk to them longer. I wanted to talk to them about my trip to DC and find out where they'd been and where they were going. They were really cool and they gave me an "Impeach Bush" bumper sticker. But for some reason I got kind of shy and so I thanked them and wished them well and left.

Oh, I guess I should admit that I had put back $2 in my car in case I needed it for parking meters, and I didn't give them that. I decided to keep it so that I could get something to eat for lunch out of the vending machines this week at school. I can't afford to buy lunch every day on campus--it can get pretty expensive!
