The SBOBU Economic Index
It sees all, it knows all, it tells all. More than the official story, anyway.

1. I'm sold on the SBOBU Index
At least it has some basis in quantifiable data, unlike the government's numbers, which I think they pull from the same place Bush** keeps his head.

I also enjoyed DD vs GWB.

Thanks, David, and I hope you're gainfully re-employed now. Bookmarked (to check back on the Index) and recommended.

2. Thanks
My ISP will provide the totals for August at midnight tonight.

I don't know when the government posts its official monthly numbers. The BLS site currently only goes through July.

4. What a shocker
And the gov says the job numbers were up last month. I heard it today, 128,000 jobs added.

Are you rigging your SBOBU Index? J'accuse, j'accuse!! lol

BTW, the end of the Index, where the government numbers vs. SBOBU's repeatedly cross, is scary. If that were instead a graph of waves coming off the African west coast, it couldn't be grimmer.

5. I cannot tell a lie
Well, I suppose I can, but in this case, I won't.

The August numbers were artificially boosted because I posted about that page here on DU yesterday, so there were a fair number of hits that wouldn't have occurred otherwise. But those weren't that big a percentage, and I think it would have shown an increase, or at least have stayed the same, even without those.

Whereas the government's numbers are pure bullshit.
