The only quote you need from Lieberman to truly know what he's all about
When confronted with the likely possibility that he will damage Connecticut Democrats this November by helping to boost Republican voter turnout with his independent (read: Republican-supported) campaign, Joe Lieberman said with a chuckle and a smug grin:

"Well, I guess I should say they should have thought of that during the primary, but here we are."

Translation (also with a chuckle and smug grin of course):

"Well, if the Democrats didn't want to vote for me on the issues, then they should have voted for me for fear that I would sabotage their campaign if I lost."

This is Lieberman: a selfish child posing as an elderly statesman who cares nothing for the disastrous consequences of his little temper tantrum. In his mind, he is only breaking another playmate's toys because his christmas gifts were inferior, but in reality he is helping to further a government bent on economic and ethical ruin at home and violent and reckless death-dealing abroad.

See this child's words for yourself here at YouTube.

2. Actually, this is surprising to me . . .
I knew him as an opportunist and a sore loser, but this is downright creepy. I think this is the sort of thing that would even turn off moderate Republicans -- they don't want this kind of a goniff representing them.

3. The fact that his campaign may cost the Democrats the House
...is a plus from a Republican point-of-view.

5. I think pols are much more cynical than voters . . .
Who -- at least in general elections rather than primaries -- tend to vote their beliefs rather than their interests (otherwise Schimpanski and his ilk wouldn't be able to get a day pass to the White House).

In that sense, I think they vote the candidate rather than the platform (especially in a confusing situation with an "independent" running), and consequently Lieberman's sincerity deficit could rear up and bite him.

8. No, I mean that Joseph Lieberman running for the Senate...
...will bring Republicans to the polls on Election Day who wouldn't bother showing up to vote for Alan Schlesinger.

That will increase votes for Republican House candidates, and may cost the Democrats the House.

4. We should donate to Democrats challenging Republicans
...for House seats in Connecticut, to fight the effect of Lieberman getting-out-the-vote for Republicans.

For example, we should donate to Democrat Diane Farrell.
