Bullshit Fake Labor Day
The whole world celebrates labor day on May 1...called MAY DAY !
This is the true Labor Day.

The US does not want us to know the true histroy surrounding the Labor Movement, even though that history is largely ours!...

And think about it... When you were in school (K-12) did your history classes ever teach you about the Labor movement in this country?

It is absolutely critical that we teach everyone of the true meaning of Labor Day and the sacrifices that many made to give us the working conditions that we now enjoy!... And another LIBERAL accomplishment!

Read for yourselves: (not long)

http://www.powertech.no/anarchy/mayday.html

Snippet from the article:

"It is not surprising that the state, business leaders, mainstream union officials, and the media would want to hide the true history of May Day. In its attempt to erase the history and significance of May Day, the United States government declared May 1st to be "Law Day", and gave the workers instead Labor Day, the first Monday of September - a holiday devoid of any historical significance."

1. I'll tell you why Labor Day is fake
All of the retailers have big sales, forcing their employees to work. Meanwhile white collar workers get the day off. The original purpose of Labor Day was to give blue collar workers the day off.

3. Lou Dobbs says May Day is a socialist/communist/anarchist holiday
Edited on Fri Sep-01-06 09:43 AM by Selatius
We all know he is using those terms in a pejorative manner, not in an objective manner.

With that said, I support the REAL labor day: May Day.

Consequently, my political views do make me into a form of anarchist, but contrary to the corporate media's depiction of anarchists, I am not in favor of violence and slaughter. Many anarchists are rather pacifistic, and of those who would resort to violence, many would only resort to that only out of self-defense/self-preservation. It is the few who do who ruin it for everyone. It takes ten anarchists to undo the damage done to our name inflicted by one agent provocateur or one whacko who claims to be an anarchist but probably never heard of Bakunin or Kropotkin or Mother Jones before.

6. everyone knows that may day
is where young girls hand out baskets of goodies and dance around a big phallic symbol. the better the baskets and dancing attracts the most attractive boys...at least that what it was before the commie scare and the day became "law day". i really don`t care what day it is just as long as there is still some recognition that people do work hard for a living. hell my employer let us have three days off which surprized all of us. but we will have to work 6 days a week for the rest of the year to make up for the "lost production"

7. All I know is...
...I'm off Monday because of it. I am not ignorant about the history of the labor movement in America, but what day it's celebrated on doesn't diminish any of the things accomplished by said movement.
