War profiteering story-Asia Times.
Wonder why there isn't much news on this issue in the US/

http://atimes.com/atimes/Front_Page/HI01Aa01.html

The report's authors say US taxpayers are funding much of this bonanza and faults US political and congressional leaders for not exercising better and more thorough oversight.

"Americans across the political spectrum should be outraged by the sight of executives cashing in on war windfalls," says report co-author Sarah Anderson. "Unfortunately, partisan politics has stopped Congress from effectively overseeing this war contracting free-for-all."

1. Am I the only one sick to death of my tax dollars going to
crooks and criminals? While I am trying hard to feed and clothe my family?

ever happen to them.

2. Obscene CEO compensation is hardly unique . . .
To defense and energy companies. And yes, HUGE amounts have been thrown to both these industries because of 1) increased GWOT funding and 2) increased energy prices.

The disparity between what rank and file workers earn and CEOs earn -- particularly given what those CEOs have to do to earn those huge salaries -- is the real problem, because it's the source of substantial social dislocation and tension.

6. Throw Diebold and ES&S election theft machines into 'Boston Harbor' NOW!
Bust the Machines--Vote Absentee this November!

It's the only way I can see left to us for peaceful change. We MUST break the power of the election theft industry. They are now "counting" all our votes with TRADE SECRET, PROPRIETARY programming code, owned and controlled by Bushite corporations--a coup that occurred in the 2002-2004 period, as the result of a nearly $4 billion electronic voting boondoggle from the Anthrax Congress, engineered by the biggest crooks in Congress, Tom Delay, Bob Ney and their Democratic pal, Christopher Dodd. They have destroyed all vote counting transparency with this SECRET code! We MUST change this NOW!

Warmongers and corporatists now have a lock on our elections. Diebold, ES&S and Sequoia--the three rightwing Republican corporations who now control all election results--are putting a 5% to 10% "thumb on the scales" in favor of unjust war, deregulation, tax cuts for the super-rich and lawlessness.

Open your eyes! SEE REALITY! And act! BOYCOTT the voting machines! FLOOD election officials with MOUNTAINS of paper Absentee Ballot votes this fall, and FORCE reform NOW.

AB votes are not "safe" either--and will not insure accurate vote counts this November (that is impossible)--but, if enough people vote AB--if everyone who despises the Bush junta (60% to 70% of the people) do so--we CAN bring sufficient panic and crisis to the election theft industry, to FORCE these corrupt election officials to the table NOW, and thus save the '08 primaries and general election from secret corporate vote counting.

Do it NOW! MASSIVE Absentee Ballot voting! It's already seeing a dramatic increase (it's up to 50% in Los Angeles). People DON'T TRUST these machines. And, boy, are they right!

7. You notice that they have already made adjustments in
the event the machines get dumped. They are making it more difficult for people to vote by adding cost and inconvenience to the process.
