Of course the next time they have an excuse to jack prices up, be it hurricane, leaky pipeline, terror attack or what have you, it will undoubtedly go to $4.00 a gallon-- then when it comes down to $3.00 we will all again be filled with delight.

gas prices aren't a damned teacake at a ladies' luncheon. Some people are digging deep into their pockets for gas money these days. We should dance in the streets because the gouging will be slightly less egregious for a few months?

I am sure the refiners and oil producers ain't too sad, either. If anyone had suggested that $2.50 a gallon was "a delight" back in 2000, 2001, 2002 or 2003 people would have checked to see if you were on something mind altering...

They have been talking about how much cheaper (a few pennies less) gas is now than last Labour Day.....

REALITY CHECK:LAST YEARS HIGH GAS PRICES WERE BECAUSE KATRINA AND RITA HAD DESTROYED MOST OF THE RIGS AND REFINERIES IN THE GULF.

We are basically paying post Katrina/Rita prices every day now. The prices prior to the hurricanes were about $2.35 if memory serves.

that gas prices have EVER dropped right before Labor Day.
I could be wrong, but I don't ever recall it happening.
And I've been driving for 20 years.
