1. Ernesto was a good thing for the most part
We needed the rain badly here and it is finally bearable outside. I hope there was no loss of life, I didn't hear of any, and otherwise it was close to all good for Carolina.

3. Just reported on CNN
2 lives lost in FLA earlier this week, and two in NC due to traffic accidents related to it. :-(

But I agree that NC needed the rain. I have family there, and they were looking forward to some rain.

2. Hey what sort of name is "Dobbs" anyway?
Edited on Fri Sep-01-06 05:38 PM by Warren Stupidity
I wonder what flavor he really is. I think there is definitely some MEXICAN in his background. I think all broadcast personalities should have to sign a NO MEXICAN oath and take a blood test so we can be sure that they are not secret MEXICANS.

Sorry, just noticed that are mexiphobians are back at work on DU again. I am so sick of this shit.

4. All kidding aside
It is good that hurricane names (which is a strange concept, but what the hey) reflect the broader population. They used to be much more 'Anglo'.

Speaking of Mexico, let's hope they get through their second hurricane occurring this weekend.
