Scarborough skewering NEW YORK TIMES over Plame investigation
Claims that the Times ran 39 front-page stories about the Plame investigation, but no stories after Armitage dropped his "Oopsie" statement. Now he claims that Joe Wilson is a liar, and he's got uberlush Christopher Hitchens to help him trash the whole investigation.

Anyone else here think the fix is in? Has the Washington Post been co-opted by the neo-fascists in the war against Nero's critics?

Also:

Not one new fact about Armitage leaking disproves a single fact in any previous story.

7. Hey, good catch
But we need to pour it on. The neo-fascists are trying to make the Plame investigation a non-issue in the same way O.J. Simpson used Mark Fuhrman and the "glove" fiasco to make two Murder One charges disappear.

8. I'm watching this crap right now. I really can't believe they are going
to run with this story about Amb. Wilson being proven wrong. No facts at all and he's screaming about the NY Times not apologizing? What world am I living in?

11. Methinks the WH is in dire straits. The scheme they have come up with
Edited on Fri Sep-01-06 08:29 PM by higher class
is pure politics - they need to pull themselves up in every way they can in the next month. They are only trying to confuse a portion of their voting base which they have identified as slipping away. They must have found out that breaking the law by exposing a CIA agent is not sitting well with people who supported them in the past. What I just witnessed is a dire act. The blatant lies are formidable.

Do the Plame's have a potential additional law suit on their side - for defamation naming the CEO of NBC and MSNBC, plus people like Hitchens?

This is the first I've heard of these lies. Perhaps a defamation law suit has been discussed. Or is MSNBC/Microsoft/NBC/GE immune from prosecution?

This is another logic defying act. Is there anyone who doesn't appreciate the exquisite orchestration that goes on within the Republican Party - to have GE and Microsoft on your side - must be awesome. Just pick up the phone.

Too bad Vanity Fair's name has to be included.

I love it when they bring up Judy Miller. Poooor, poooor Judy. So stepped on.

12. Yeah, sure, you better believe it
The Times, the Post, MSNBC (featuring Glen Beck!!).

They're all willing, eager and able to drive the message home, given the right $ort of incentive$.
We've got a couple or three news folks we lean towards -- and trust, most of the time-- but that's it.

But you never know. Once in a while one of the bought-and-paid-for news messengers will sneak home a zinger, when no one's looking. Even Scarborough.

(Shoot, even the worst of the worst -- the good-as-condemned-to-perdition masters of mendacity, down there at the rim of the Ninth Circle -- can surprise you. After the third or fourth day of the Reagan funeral, I remember hearing Michael Savage get all whiny and irritated with the length of the proceedings. I don't remember if he made a direct comparison to Lenin's or Stalin's funerals, but his annoyance did tap (and deflate) some of that 'cult of personality' hot air.)

16. That acutally makes some sense.
You mean this show, right?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/20...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whhbPVrb5KM&eurl=http%3A...

Watch how nervous he gets during the show. He stumbles over the cue cards. He stammers. He stutters. He injects self-depreciating humor to deflect the criticisms and hate mail he KNOWS is coming at him for betraying the * cause.

I think you might be right about this, catgirl.
He still totally annoys the funk out of me.
Watch Joe be a two-faced idiot and pander to both sides.

Did you think you couldn't hate him more?

I knew you could.

20. Absolutely ...
People were getting a little giddy the last month or so cause he is taking shots at Bushco ... This cat, his colors are true ... You can see how he REALLY feels it when he bangs the "liberal press" ... Dude is playing both sides cause it is what he needs to do to survive in a climate turning against his kind, but make no mistake, he is a "liberal" hating, conservative piece of garbage ...

This was another example. I just had to change the channel since I really didn't want to watch him anyway, and the bullshit flowing into my living room was really bugging me after Countdown ended.

22. I'm taking my rage to them
Every time I hear some bullshit that makes my blood boil, I send the offender a short rant. We need to hit the media hard, at every chance that we get. I take about 5 minutes every day to send someone in the media a short rant. It feels good and I think that it is necessary to let them know that we are out here and that we are mad. I sent Joe this link and told him that he should be ashamed of himself.

19. The same NYT w. Judy Miller when Libby leaked to her on 6/23?
Yes, Joe lets scrutinze that for a bit, how the Bush Administration routinely used the NYT to spread their lies and disinformation. Judy "aluminum tubes" Miller was one of their usual cutouts when they wanted to dump a load on the American public via the NYT.

So go ahead Joe, scrutinize the role of the NYT, Miller and her buds in the Administration in the marketing of the Iraq war and leaking of classified information that served their purposes. And when Libby wanted to dump a load on Wilson he leaked about Wilson's wife's employment to Judy Miller on June 23 and July 8 as documented in the grand jury testimony made public. The conversations were so "innocent" that Libby lies about them to this day.

But those aren't the talking points of the day, are they. And the best Joe can do is Hitchens? No credibility issues there, huh?

21. Isn't Joe the Congressman cheating on wife w/ an aid that kills the aide?,
thereby losing wife to divorce and losing congressional seat, becoming a talk show host?

The report of the Dead aide with head injury - Lori Klausutis, 28 - being found in Joe's office had many assuming it was an accidental death during sex - rough sex or just doggie style banging of the ladies head into the desk, especially since time of death was just after 5 pm - just after the office closed. Klausutis's death was assigned by the Medical Examiner's Office in Pensacola to Okaloosa/Walton coroner Dr. Michael Berkland who was Fired as Medical Examiner in Jackson County, Missouri in 1996 and was in trouble for Florida for incompetence in 2001 and 2002 with the Florida Medical Examiner's Commission complaining of his failure to complete dozens of autopsy reports in 2001 and 2002, a violation of state statutes. This plus the lies about her prior health makes one wonder how Joe escaped a grand jury review. Indeed Dr Berkland's cover-up story for Joe does not seem credible - but then the fact that the revocation of Berkland's license imperiled at least nine criminal convictions in Missouri, with at least 2 cases filing since he left Missouri for a reversal of judgment based on "false" testimony by Dr. Berkland - all of this is not a topic CNN or MSNBC will discuss.

But somehow Joe Scarborough is credible as he complains about the NEW YORK TIMES Plame investigation?

I do love our media.
