How stupid is PBS' NOW?

Excuuuuuuuussssseeeeee Meeeeeeee, but am I the only one whose head hurts from how chuckleheaded NOW has become since Moyers left? I won't even pick on David Dullcacchio tonight-- I'm having trouble with the LLLLLllllllllatina women being used to talk to us as if we're pre-schoolers about voting issues. Is it diversity if it is an insulting (to everyone) charicature?

How dumbed down are we? How much does this show's production values and watered down mentality contribute to more dumbing-down?

I watched a few times after Moyers left then gave it up. It is doze off time when I turn it on. No more.

2. "NOW" lost Bill Moyers and lost a half-hour of broadcast time

I know that David Brancaccio is no Bill Moyers (who is?) but Moyers has decades of seasoning over DB -- plus he had PBS' full backing (until the cons took over) and 60 minutes to develop his themes each week. Can't remember the name of the Latina, but like Brancaccio I think mostly what she lacks is those decades of experience.

Sigh. I admit I mostly skip the program now, but I do think they did a good job on voter disenfranchisement -- tune in next week for their take on electronic voting machines.

10. Missed the show but now that you mention Hinojosa...

I've been listening to her for years on PBS and NPR. She covers almost exclusively Hispanic subjects, but she's damn good at it.

It's beyond a lack of time or backing-- I don't doubt both DB and the woman are smart enough to know better. The sense is that they are being forced to play these wishy-washy roles. One clue is how DB acts all puzzled and clueless in questioning and then delivers some forceful Repug Lite propaganda statement (sometimes in the guise of a question) worthy of a catapult.

I would love to give them all credit as you do but it seems there is something else going on.........................................
