4. Good list. I'd add this one:
Squandering the good will the rest of the world felt for this country after 09/11. That was such a great opportunity, in the right hands, to have used that good will to do such good things...be a moral leader in the worldwide fight against AIDS, to deal with global warming, to address the problems of hunger and poverty worldwide. We had the world behind us immediately after 09/11. And George W. Bush foolishly, wantoning, squandered it. Completely, absolutely and totally. It's heartbreaking to think about that.

5. Those are excellent terra.
I started to build a really looong list and say at the end that those were the top 5 I could think of. There are so many "tops" to his list of low expectations.

But apart from the list, Bush personifies the kind of values and thinking that are the root causes of failure. Bush and all people who emulate him carry the disease. Bush is just a pustule on the feeble, sickened face of the Republican party, a party that abandoned science, achievement, accountability, and fair play.

12. Katrina, Iraq, energy policy, the environment, terrorism/national security
Unfortunately we have an embarassment of riches here.

Unless BushCo set out to wreck this country,
can anyone name something they are doing right?

Honorable mention:
federal deficits
the economy
NCLB
the whole Middle East and foreign policy in general

15. Mine too. Same failures - in that order.
Katrina #1 because it epitomizes everything that he is about - and everything he is not.

13. Breathing!
Frankly, I think Bush has not been a failure at all. The Neocons, with Bush as their front man, have deliberately set out to enrich corporations & the wealthiest 1% of the population, destroy all social progams & safety nets, rig elections to stay in permanent power, scrap and spit on our Constitution & Bill of Rights, and replace democracy with a form of fascism. They have succeeded magnificently and in record time.

17. They're only failures when Democratic presidents do it
You're right, they have succeeded at almost everything, one might say they are not failing at all, however they would be calling all of this failure if it was a D pres.
